Terms & Conditions

The General Terms and Conditions (“GTC”) governing all retreats operated by MALLORCA ART RETREAT (“MART”).

Last revised: 12 October 2026

1. Booking & Deposit

Booking begins with an enquiry through our website or WhatsApp. Once availability is confirmed, a non-refundable deposit of €1200 secures your place. The balance is due 12 weeks before the retreat start date.

Payment is made by bank transfer. Your place is only confirmed once the deposit has been received and acknowledged by MART in writing.

2. Deposit & Payment

The €1200 deposit is non-refundable in all circumstances, save for bookings cancelled under the 14-day withdrawal right set out in Clause 3(a). It secures your place and covers administrative costs incurred by MART upon booking.

The remaining balance must be settled in full no later than 12 weeks before the retreat start date. Should the balance not be received by this date, MART reserves the right to release the place.

3. Cancellation by the Client

a) Right of withdrawal (14-day cooling-off period): The Client may cancel the booking within 14 days of the booking confirmation — that is, from the date on which the deposit is paid — by notifying MART in writing by email to the address provided at the time of booking. In this case, the Client will be refunded in full, less the administrative costs incurred by MART, within 14 working days.

b) After the 14-day withdrawal period, for cancellations made more than 12 weeks before the retreat start date, the full balance (excluding the non-refundable €1200 deposit) will be refunded to the Client within 14 working days.

c) For cancellations made less than 12 weeks before the retreat start date, no refunds will be issued. MART strongly recommends that all Clients hold comprehensive travel insurance that covers trip cancellation (see Clause 5 of the GTC).

d) All cancellations must be communicated to MART in writing by email to the address provided at the time of booking.

4. Cancellation or Changes by MART

If a retreat is cancelled by MART for any reason, the full payment including the deposit will be 100% refunded to the Client within 14 working days. MART's liability is limited to refunding its own retreat fees and does not extend to airfares, travel costs, or any other third-party expenses incurred by the Client.

MART reserves the right to make reasonable changes to the retreat programme, schedule, or activities where necessary. Clients will be informed of any significant changes as soon as practicable.

In the unlikely event that a scheduled instructor is unable to attend, MART will make every effort to provide a qualified replacement instructor so that the retreat can proceed as planned.

5. Travel Insurance

MART strongly recommends that all Clients hold comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, curtailment, medical expenses, personal belongings, and any other foreseeable risk. It is the Client's responsibility to ensure their insurance is adequate for their individual circumstances.

MART does not provide travel insurance and is not liable for any costs arising from the Client's failure to obtain adequate cover.

6. Liability

MART's total liability in connection with any retreat is limited to the amount paid by the Client for that retreat. MART shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including but not limited to loss of enjoyment, missed flights, or additional travel expenses.

Clients participate in all activities at their own risk and are responsible for their own health, safety, and belongings throughout the retreat.

7. Data Protection

MART processes the Client's personal data in accordance with its dedicated Data Protection document, which forms an integral part of these General Terms and Conditions and should be read together with them.

In summary, any personal information provided by the Client is used solely for the purpose of administering the retreat and communicating with the Client. MART does not share personal data with third parties except where necessary to deliver the retreat or where required by law.

The dedicated Data Protection document will be made available separately and communicated to Clients before booking.

8. Governing Law

These General Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Spain. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Spanish courts.
